My dog has no problem eating it and she is normally picky. I puncture the capsule and mix the oil into her food. I’ve been purchasing these for about 4 consecutive years now. She will be turning 16 in 2 weeks and is still vibrant, sassy, playful, and looks a lot better than many dogs her age. I tried to upload a video of her running and playing but was unable to.

My foster lab mix had terrible skin problems-dry flaky skin, patches of fur missing, and he was itching so much he was getting infections. He is on prednisone from the vet, but I wanted to find a better way to help him, so I bought this. Now, after a couple of weeks, his fur is actually very shiny and there is very little flakiness. He looks great and has more energy! BUT-both my dogs hate the taste and will not eat these capsules . I have to force them down their throats, or try to hide them in can food or something. Also, I took my lab off the prednisone for 4 days to see what would happen, and he started itching again and his skin was red and oozing on his throat. So, yes, I am happy with these pills-they really made a difference for both my dogs actually. But, they did not solve my lab's skin issues. I think his allergies are very severe, and he is going back to the vet this week for testing. I am not sure if I will buy this brand again or not-it would be so much easier if my dogs liked the taste and I could just give these to them as a treat! But, like I said earlier, they made their skin and coats look fantastic and I am going to continue to give them fish oil in the future.

Several years ago my vet recommended this for my lab when I asked what I could do to keep her healthy and active. I’ve given her these pills combine with glucosamine for most of her life, and at 12 years old she has zero mobility issues—still runs and swims as well as she did ten years ago. And she’s as soft as a baby seal.About a year ago we adopted a bully mix, and on his first vet visit learned that his skin allergies were pretty bad. We started him on the fish oil and noticed a difference immediately. Less itching, and a softer coat. I recommend these do every dog owner.

My long haired dog would get seasonal skin irritation and was so uncomfortable and scratching bad that I took him to the vet, who prescribed Apaquel to give as needed. Ive been giving Welactin soft gels (he takes 3 every day for his 60 lbs) for a little over 2 years and I haven’t had to use the prescription meds. My dog seems to like the smell and takes the soft gels readily. His coat is shinier and softer also.

My dogs get this with every meal. Their fur really benefits from this product. Very healthy and shiny.

These caps are so much easier to use than the bottle of liquid Welactin except the capsules have all been stuck together in the last couple shipments. Despite lots of effort, they couldn't be separated and therefore are not usable. We will try to find them locally to see if the problem is heat during shipping. Our dogs take them easily and don't mind them.
