I had a foot wound, and the liquid betadine was so messy to apply. This ointment applies so easy, and works just as well. Great product.

Product is very good for wound care. Works better than Triple Antibiotic Ointment. Price is right!

After a recent surgery, the incision was cleaned with iodine when my sutures were removed and the dressing was changed. I was looking for a povidone iodine cream I'd be able to use when I changed the dressing myself, and discovered this listing for this ointment.Compared to the typical liquid form, the thicker viscosity of this product makes it much easier to use. The 1 oz. quantity is helpful here, since povidone iodine has a short shelf-life (Most sources I found report it's best to use it 2-4 weeks/1 month after opening, and that the potency gradually decreases after that.Definitely recommended, and will buy it again for myself as needed.

As noted in a previous review, this does burn, but not so much that it is intolerable. The worst thing about it is that it is nearly impossible to squeeze out of the tube since it is VERY thick. I thought that I was going to break the tube in order to get any out, & it is not old as the end date is 10/30/2027.Certainly won't buy this again...would send it back if it wasn't such a hassle.
