These tongs are great for frying tacos, the special grip coverings allow for great handling and perfect for turning over meats, tacos and other food items when grilling or flipping over food.

Yes, the spring of these tongs is made of of stainless steel too.

Q: are these BPA free of harmful chemicals?

I can’t remember the answer to that. Anything that touches food is stainless steel. The grips are the only thing that aren’t stainless except for the ring at the end that locks them closed. I really like these and the fact that all I have to do is touch the ring at the bottom on the counter to open them.
