This is the best book for any football lover or for any person who is interested in knowing how football tactics developed over the years across so many countries. The author has done extensive research to compile so many details like data, books and articles published at that time. Really enjoyed reading it and I must admit, my knowledge about football has improved a lot.

For football fanatics who would like to know more about it's history, this book is a must-read and for people at the opposite end of the spectrum, I'd say that this book would only be interesting for them in bits and pieces.

While other books may deal with formations, tactics, strategies, etc in more detail, this book deals with the evolution of the game over the years, what brought about the changes, and who were the people that helped change the way the game was played to how it is played today.

The author has brought forward the evolution of tactics in different eras of football. Gets too long when describing 1900s to 1950s. Chapters on Lobanovskyi, Sachhi, Cruyff are exceptional

By the time you finish reading this book, you would feel as if you had witnessed a story. It is like watching a movie with beautiful scenes. And would never go away from your mind. Most importantly, you would love the game ever more.
