works like a charm
Follow the set-up directions and how to safely handle the components. You are also supposed to put it on a certain side of the plants. Will buy them again in 2024 when it is gardening time. Is fun to keep track of all the bugs you didn't know you had!

caught hundreds of jap beetles this season
I recommend this trap, scent, and bags for catching japanese beetles. It saved my roses this year from these pests.I just use one trap, the same bait all year, and of course lots of bags.During the height of the season I was changing out bags every 3-4 days (with 100-200 bugs each time)

Good product, but not my top choice.
Works very well! I do prefer the trap from Safer as the Spectracide bags are a little smaller and the Spectracide bait is a little messier in comparison.

Hang far enough away from plants to lure beetles away.
This product is very good. I use it every year because I have roses and the beetles literally devour them. Just be sure to hang far away from the plants you are trying to protect to divert them. When bags get a lot of dead beetles it really starts to stink. May turn the beetles away. I dump the bag and put on a new one and they are attracted again. Be sure to buy extra bags. Lure lasts all season and beyond. If I have lures leftover I store in ziplock and use again. Great product.

It works great, but use caution in placement.
The traps work fine. You'll bag 1000's of beetles. Just be careful and place the traps in areas at least 75 ft from any tree, shrub or plant you are trying to protect. Put out prior to seeing them. If they come in June, put it out at the end of May.

Unbelievable.
We used these last year for control of Japanese Beetles. We followed instruction & as we were installing the beetles started to swarm to the bag. It was crazy how came fast they responded. We had to actually brush them off us & get away from it.

Does the job
Bags are sturdy and definitely work to catch the beetles. Only negative is that the drainage holes in bags bottom (which allow rainwater through) are just a bit larger than the other brands. So unfortunately you can see 1/2 of a beetle struggling to try and get out of each hole. Yuck. They don’t get out but I’d rather not see their legs reaching out. 🤢
