Great AC energizer for electric fence
I bought the AC energizer for an electric fence installation. The product looks good and works well, and it was easy to install.

Really works
I use mine for keeping raccoons away from my chickens, vegetables, and grape vines and for keeping my goat from climbing on his fence. It works well. Both of my dogs found the fence wire around the grapes at different times and felt trapped. One was small enough that I could carry him out; the other I had to turn off the fence and lower the wires so that she felt safe enough to come over the fence. This is the third one I've bought for use in different places.

Did what it was intended for
Works great, make sure you have a ground rod I had a rebar and used that

Deer do not like it
The media could not be loaded. I have been dealing with deer invading our yard and doing us the great favor of going to the bathroom all over the place. I have tried fishing line, motion sprinklers, etc and an electric fence was my last resort. I initially had a 0.1 joule charger which just wasn't enough power to deter the deer. I replaced it with this one, and the deer definitely do not like it. It is by far the best way to prevent unwanted animals from entering your yard. It is supposedly water resistant but I keep the charger under cover just in case.

Effective!
Keeping critters out of my garden. Not sure if it is as powerful as my previous unit?

Really strong, easy to install
This was extremely easy to install (even I could do it). Grounding rods are about halfway in the ground, and just twisted the run on to the hot wire. Accidentally touched it, and it is really strong. Should definitely keep my pigs in and other animals out.

I am very happy with this Charger!
This review is for the Zareba EAC25M-Z. I usually wait about 2 months before I leave a review to make sure I have had a chance to use the item. In this case I was leaving a review for a charger I just returned from another company that stopped working and was so pleased with this one that I thought I would just go ahead and leave a review based on how happy I am. I was never very happy with the last energizer I had, and it stopped working after 17 days. I ordered this on Amazon, and it arrived the next day. This is a bit of an overkill for my garden electric fence, but I didn't want to take chances any longer with the animals. The readings on my tester are up there just where they are supposed to be and when I use the blade of grass test my hand jumps almost right away where my previous charger made me question its effectiveness. The click of the power is distinctive if you are close. The light on the unit isn't very bright. I was out in the darkness and couldn't tell if the light was on one time. I don't really care about the light as long as I can hear a click. I am very happy with the power of this unit and very glad I bought this charger!

Excellent for protecting chickens
Our area is full of chicken predators. I have bought two of these now. We use one to energize the parameter fencing insulators around the outside of our chicken coop, and chicken run--that one is a year old with no issues whatsoever. The second one I bought to use on the parameter of our chicken tractor. I mounted these energizers inside of the enclosures to keep them out of the weather elements. These have enough power to fry slugs, kill frogs, handle tall grass, and keep working with plenty of juice to spare--enough juice to make your feet hurt and talk really ugly to it if you forget to cut it off before doing your chicken chores. So far nothing has even attempted to bother our chickens. I cannot imagine any predator being able to endure such a shocking experience.
