How do I attach the tether?

Use a large flat screwdriver to pry under the old tether and pop it out. On the one I received in 2020, there is no need to push the center pin of the new tether out. In fact, were you to do so, it would likely break it. Look carefully at the end of the new tether and you will see that the pin has two raised sections that hold it in place. The new tether just snaps right in.

For the price, want to make sure it fits the fuel tank on my 1997 chevy blazer lt. I have a check engine light (p1441) and want to try this first

i did a search on ebay motors and it says it should fit.

What is that thing on the side? Does it just go in the opening?

It replaces how ur old one is made so when u open ur cap u done have to put it on ur car this just hangs is all.

My gas fuel cap is on left hand or drivers side. Fit my 2005 Deville Cadillac, eliminating the check engine light concern.
