My 7 year old loved it! Very good book!

Bought for my 10 y/o daughter and she thought it good but thought it was better suited for younger kids... like how horrific does a 10 y/o want their books to be LOL.

Ok so, this book was very addicting at first but then they started to not even make sense, I am gonna continue to read A.M Luzzaders books because they are addicting and fun to read.

It's not bad great for young readers looking for a little chill. Not to scary but perfect for someone just starting to read stories for a thrill.

My 8 year old son has always been into spooky stories, so long as they're not too wild! He'd brought home another well known story collection (from my childhood) and its sequel last fall from the school library. The readingin that series we found was sometimes hard -The way that old series was written, the language and the stories are a little strange at times for us. So when we got this Arthur Blackwood series we were excited about a newer look at something similar with our 8 year old and it was right up my son's alley. More modern language and themes and was just written so well and was engaging and nicely within his reading ability. My 12 YO son couldn't help himself and listened in every time we were reading with the younger brother. At the end of Book One I asked what the favorite story was, my husband, 12 year old and 8 year old all immediately gave a different answer. So I guess there's really something for everyone! We all didn't find anything too spooky to keep us up at night or anything, but they ARE spooky so you do have to consider what your child is suited for! No bad language or anything that is inappropriate other than it being potentially scary for some kids.
