Well made from quality materials, works exactly as promised. I’m super happy with the way it tilts and pulls down and how sturdy it feels on the wall.It took me a while to find studs and figure out all of the TV measurements. I also figured out later that the mounting plate doesn’t have to be centered on the studs (it can be mounted off center above the hearth to hit the studs and the arm can be mounted off center of the plate so it’s centered on the hearth). The TV can also be adjusted fairly easily up and down and side to side on the mount after installation. After I figured all of that out, the installation went really quickly.Before figuring out all of the above, I was obsessing about centering the TV and getting the right height above the hearth. So measuring and re-measuring took most of the installation time. The white covers also make it look like the arm is mounted on the center of the plate, regardless of whether it is or not. If I’d known that I wouldn’t have spent so much time being careful about measurements.Great product overall.

This was quite a bit of work to install, however it is well worth it! and customer service was great when I called them. I bought this to lower our tv mount in our new house, and glad i did! We use it almost every day, and raise/lower it multiple times a week. It looks great, feels great, and works perfect! you MUST follow directions, and its quite a bit of work to install, however it is well worth it! Highly recommend! We got stuck once or twice, as I had to move the outlet, and wanted to make sure everything was right, however when I called customer service they were great!

Very nice and easy to install, not sure why people struggle with installation so don’t be afraid to do it yourself. Some simple math and measurements gets you where you want it on the wall, this is my third tv mount ever that I’ve installed so I’m no expert. Comes down easy and does as advertised. I do have only 2 comments, one is that it does come off the wall a good bit when in upright position, as the mount is very bulky. With a very thin tv it doesn’t look too bad when upright position. Just something to note if you like your tv more flush against the wall. Second comment is that the angle where you swivel to either side cannot be swiveled when tv is in upright position, and can only be swiveled fully when in the most downward position. Something I did not know and wish it could be swiveled at any position. Maybe something mantelmount can redesign for future mounts.

We have limited option to put the big TV in our living room and the only position that fits the TV well is above the fireplace. We were about to adjust the mantel lower but fortunately found this product while looking for solution on internet. I’m not very handy so a bit scare to put it up by myself. I took plenty of time going through the manual carefully as recommended by other customers. Finally affer buying the product 3 weeks I had time to install it to the wall. It took me about 4 hours to complete it as I want to do slowly in each step to avoid redoing it. The out come is great, the TV is leveled well after the final step so I don’t have to make any adjustment. Now I can free up more spaces in my living room and enjoy watching it at the right height.Product engineering Improvement: I found step 3.1 and 3.7 are taking a bit time to complete. It’s not very difficult but not easy to put the bolts in place. I recommend to redesign these steps to make it easier for user. It’d help reducing 15-20 minutes setup time.

I am using this unconventionally to mount my TV above the bay window in my living room. I could not find anything else as fully featured that would allow the TV to drop BELOW the center of the mount. This is really important because I only have a little over a foot of clearance between the top of my window and the ceiling.Pros:The mount is sturdy, has good range, is easy to adjust up and down, and was extremely easy to put together. Slick accomodations for a bottom sound-bar is nice.Cons:The angle of panning is weak. It is very expensive. It is fairly heavy, by itself.WARNING:If you are using this mount for a similar purpose as me, you need to know that you have to open the lowering arm BEFORE you mount it to the wall bracket. It took a lot of strength to pull the thing away from it's neutral position in order to put a lock in it in order to keep it open so it can be safely mounted. This is a two person job, it requires lots of strength, and it is definitely not meant to be opened without first being mounted to the wall. Also note that even with this lock, the top of the arm will rise just a little above the wall mount bracket.Room for improvement:Please, please, please make this easier to open without being mounted. The resistence is turned pretty much all the way up out of the box. Wider pan and tilt angles would make this mount literally the best mount available. Also it would be real nice to be have the ability to adjust the vertical stop so you can set the maximum height.While this mount is expensive, it is definitely worth the money. I imagine it would be even nicer if I were using it for the intended above-mantle purpose, but just keep in mind the difficulties of following in my footsteps if you choose to buy it for that purpose.
