Drawing Animal Portraits in Coloured Pencil

Drawing fur
Lots of good suggestions for improving your colored pencil skills. Suggestions for drawing various kind of fur from curly to short to shaggy. The coloring of long white fur was a particular interest to me as I am working on a white furred dog.

Can't wait to see final results
Love this book. Gave me great tips and I started a drawing of a friends late dog for a gift..and my future DIL cat. I haven't finished either, but here's what I have so far

Highly Recommended!!!
This is a really excellent book on drawing animals in colored pencil. One of the better ones for sure!!! Not many line drawings, but that's fine. They are easy enough to create on your own either from the picture in the book or from one of the many apps that are available these days. Chances are, you'll want to do one of your own projects anyhow. Check out Lisa Ann Watkins on YouTube too. She's a great artist with very helpful techniques.

Good book
I’m really into equine art and am just getting restarted as a professional artist. I was hoping this book would have had a complete colored pencil horse but alas it didn’t. Still a good book for every colored pencil artist

Inspiring and very approachable
I'm very new to colored pencil drawing, and consider myself fairly untalented with drawing in general. I found this book to be very useful, informative and inspiring. I've worked my way through the first few tutorials, and am very happy with my results so far. There is no way I would have been able to produce these drawings without the guidance contained in the book. The book has inspired me to join the authors Patreon channel to continue my learning adventure. Well worth the purchase price, thank you so much Lisa!

Fantastic Colored Pencil how to from start to finish!
Wow, Lisa not only gives you stunning step by step photos and written instructions but she starts you at the very beginning. She explains the different kinds of pencils and how to use them. Then goes on to show individual parts of the animal (eyes, noses, fur). Last and perhaps the most important the final projects, of which there are five different subjects. This would be a great addition to your library or a fantastic Christmas gift !! So excited Lisa, thank you for such a wonderfully written book.
