Worked with M1 Mac
I was nervous because the driver listed only intel Macs. It worked for me with my M1 MacBook Pro running MacOS Ventura, version13.1, using cool term. The device showed up in cool term without installing any drivers. I initially had my baud set incorrectly. So, I thought it wasn't working and installed the driver. Now two devices show up in cool term. Both seem to work correctly.

great but big and temperamental to power surges
the title says it all, larger than other USB/RS-422/485 converters but it has activity lights which help out in certain situations and not many other devices have that capability. Problem is two years in and I've had to replace it once already (though it runs 24/7) due to power surge issues from passing thunder storms. I'll keep buying as need though, it's cheap enough and does its job well.

Purchased 2020
5 years and going strong. I use this adapter to scan BACNET comm lines. It has never not worked. I will use this when other adapters fail to double check myself. I believe this can also be used to connect to generic BACNET devices like Mitsubishi comm cards. (I originally purchased it to program a mini split comm adapter).I recommend this to co workers as their preferred RS-485 adapter.Ken Trane Controls.

perfect.
This does exactly what its supposed to and has held up to some extreme conditions (-36F to 111F) without fail.

Great Device
I have used this for some time now and really like it. Had used much more expensive devices in the past that offered all kinds of interface options, but this one is quick and easy to use as is.

It works, but...
If possible I would have given this product 3.5 stars. I did get it to work and it serves it purpose. However, it does have some issues. Once connected to my Windows 7 computer Windows automatically installed the latest FTDI driver and the device appeared to work. In testing it with a terminal program I noticed that all lower-case ASCII characters were trash but upper-case letters transferred correctly. In checking further I determined that any ASCII character above 0x59 hex was trashed by the driver. I then installed the (older) FTDI driver included on the mini-CD that came with the device and things then started working as they should. Additionally, if the RS-485 connected device is re-booted or otherwise disconnects and re-connects to this converter the converter seems to loose the USB connection on the Windows end (sometimes but not always). This means re-starting or at least re-initializing the Windows serial/terminal program. All in all a good device but if you're using it to test an RS-485 device (or new product as I was) then first assure yourself that this device is setup right and working correctly.
