Sounds Great! Love it!
This is an instant hit with me. Never played anything like it before. It's kind of a mix between a bamboo flute and bagpipes. Has two drone pipes you can silence or play for a unique sound. But, it has a beautiful mellow sound that is kind of like a clarinet or oboe. Love it! Case is nice, instrument seems well built. Great value for the money. Easy to play out of the box. If you have any experience with a recorder, tin whistle, flute or the like, you should be able to pick it up easy. The only thing I would say is that it would be cool if it came with some instructions, other than that, I would recommend it!

Product has a quality problem
Middle Pipe was not working (No sound). Powder/Dust fly out all over the place when you blow on it.

He seemed genuinely pleased with this new acquisition
This was a gift for my adult son. He is very musical and is always interested in experimenting with new instruments. He seemed genuinely pleased with this new acquisition. He was able to play a simple tune without referring to the enclosed instructions. The Hulusi itself is well made and quite attractive. The included storage case is also well made and has a hard case of molded plastic with a flocked interior finish which fits the instrument perfectly.

Product had an insect/bug infestation
Product had some sort of insect or bug infestation. When it arrived the flute looked and case looked normal. I played it a few times then put it away sealed in its case for several months. After opening it again after many months, there were lots of dead, small black bugs in the case and all over the flute!I researched it more on threads and apparently it may have been some sort of bamboo-eating burrowing insect. This happens when the bamboo is not properly fired or lacquered. I suspect the bugs/eggs were already in the flute and hatched later then died inside.Ew, to think I played that with that potentially in there! Good product but maybe plastic or other material is better. None of those bugs were found anywhere in my house and since the case was sealed, there was really no way for them to get in there. The bugs must have come all the way from the source country. Yikes!
