Perfect for my growing mastiff
The backpack looks very nice, well finished and sturdy. As a previous review mentioned, there is a small flaw, The bottom sternum strap is connected to the first chest strap by a sewn loop that is inconveniently located between the buckle and the plastic piece that you adjust the size with. This means that if you must make the chest strap longer, the bottom sternum loop is confined to a smaller and smaller space that is also not centered. Well... not worth the return. It's an easy fix. Cut the end of the strap and reorganize the plastic parts. I did it and now, I can adjust everything perfectly to my growing English Mastiff. I have a lot more room, for him to grow, than I thought. I think this backpack is going to last him quite a while. It took me a little bit of time to adjust everything perfectly (time to figured out how the straps worked). Now, my pup is all excited to go for a walk with his new bag.The pockets are pretty large and can accommodate 2 to 3 plastic bottles (depending on the size of it) for the big Baxter. I was wondering what the metal part was in front for, and once I read the label i found out it was a bottle opener 🤣

Perfect for my golden
Did a 7 miler last week with my pups, had no issues with the pack. I think it's helpful to balance the load though. Decent price and she can carry her own water and snacks

Straps can slip, otherwise great backpack
It fits my 155lb Saint Bernard hiking buddy great but the saddlebags do like to slip down. I wish it had dual zippers because sometimes it’s hard to get into the corner to get it open. It does fit a couple small water bottles, a day’s worth of food, and doggy bags, which is what we were hoping for when he goes for overnight backpacking trips. The flaws are fairly minor considering it’s hard to find a backpack for a dog this size!

Great looking dog pack, just looks better than all the others.
By far one of the best looking bags out there! Get lots of compliments and it just fits a athletic vibe for a dog. It has a nice stiff section for over the spine, and has multiple ways to adjust the straps. My dog is a little chunky for her height and this size will fit a huge range of weights.I can’t really rate comfort because I’m not a dog wearing it sooo all I can say is my dog doesn’t mind it at all.. so I say it’s comfy?I haven’t had anything break or rip, my dog can pull with power even at 50lbs, but I haven’t tested that fully, so for now it’s very durable. It’s nice having the dog carry their own poop bags and I can fit all my dogs booties for rocky sections. I wouldn't make her carry a water bottle, due to weight offset but you do you lol!I also don’t keep it super tight, due to walking sitting laying down etc, but it will shift side to side from pulling so people with OCD watch out lol.Overall I recommend vs paying double the money for a bag that does the same, and if something does rip you won’t cry too much,Enjoy!

I love this thing!
I really want to give it 4.5 stars because this is definitely not the fastest to get on or off, especially if you have a wiggly dog. Also, I wouldn't walk my dog on the ring - or any backpack ring that was this low on the product. It's ridiculous - how do you control your dog from all the way down there? You don't. Plus, the straps go right across the chest, which generally promotes pulling; with the added load, your dog's just going to have a fun time pretending it's a sled dog.Having said that, I love this thing. I wouldn't go hardcore backpacking in it, but this is great for neighborhood and urban environments, and probably would be okay on well-worn trails if your dog has gotten used to being wider. I also like that this fits over my dog's SleepyPod harness so I don't have to swap her gear in and out. I can just lay it on her if I want her to help me carry things from the house to the car, without having to strap her all the way in. Definitely balance the bags out, don't over-stuff them, and make sure the fit is correct. I am still seeing some slipping, but it's not unreasonable. And last but not least, you absolutely can't beat the warranty on this.

I really wanted to like this bag more.
Unfortunately, I can see the regrettable outcome of this bag on an active dog. I wish the material used was much stronger, and much more durable. I thought the only bone I would have to pick would be about how the orange bag is mostly black/orange rather than orange/black. Honestly, I was looking for one that was mostly orange or all orange, this was as close as I would get.Okay. First off, the saddlebags are not removable. They appear to be but are not. So there is no taking it off to repair, or replace. Second, the buckling straps on the side that go under the dog's chest are connected to the bag, not the harness. So, if the saddlebag unravels or gets a hole, that is the end of the entire saddlebag setup!Third. I get the need to have a sure fit but, there were just too many adjustment points for me and it took too long and was never really adjusted for my dog before I gave up. Trying to prevent the saddlebags from flopping while fitting the steps around the girth of my dog and still yet, allowing breathing room was almost impossible! I have a small/medium-sized dog and unfortunately, this wasn't a good fit for me or my dog.

Great for bigger dogs!
Pros:Very sturdy design, unlikely to break or rip.Big Baxter model pockets will each hold a zip lock bag containing 8 cups of food, so the pockets are fairly large. The number of straps ensure that it generally stays in place, unless you severely unbalance one side with weight.Highly adjustable to fit very large dogs. I could see it fitting St Bernard's, Great Danes, and Mastiffs with no problem.Cons:The straps can be difficult to adjust while on the dog, as they are designed to not accidentally loosen. The description for Big Baxter says it will 50 lb dogs, my 55lb Boxer mix is almost too slender for the adjustments. It's still a little loose, but it works. It's really intended for the upper end of the size range they give.
