Q: How do I maintain the bench? Is it real teak wood?

You can treat it with teak oil, but if you want it to look really good treat it with Danish Oil. Not any harder to apply than teak oil but you get much better results appearance-wise. A pint of Watco will be enough to do the whole bench. Also, if you already treated it with teak oil, no worries, you can apply Danish Oil right on top of the teak oil as soon as like a week later.

Q: I am looking for a bench to stain a cream color to match our trim work (will probably use Sherwin Williams solid stain that we used on our deck). Would this bench be a good option for this?

All I can say is that I used a honey gold deck stain for my bench and it came out great

I want the natural change from warm golden to a weathered grey color. I will not use teak oil. Should I use any wood treatment?
