I suppose you could try be careful not to gouge the wood your trying to sand

Suggest that you will you purchase a carbide cutting blade at a hardware store or Harbor Freight as an attachment. The kit comes with limited parts mostly for wood and plastic. One semi-circular blade for soft metal which a nail can be considered. Better to get a carbide blade which will last longer.
