Definite improvement if you're using the plastic default tampers. The handle feels nice. The metal part is smooth and easy to clean. Either a quick wipe or rinse with water is sufficient. Coffee grinds don't really stick to it. The tamper base has a circular ring design on the bottom, so it'll imprint circles into your portafilter grinds. Big thing with this tamper is the weight. It definitely has some heft to it.Really satisfied with it.

ordered the red 51mm, it is more-so brown, the quality is top-notchthough when spinning the tamp, which you may want to do when leveling the espresso or removing the tamp, the handle may become loosethis isn't a problem for me, i like that the handle is removable as it can be re-stained, etc, so i may add blue loctite to the base thread to help with this
