What is your elevation at your location. You lose about 1" of vacuum for every 1,000 ft elevation. If you're in Denver, CO, the most you'll get is about 25" from any vacuum pump. At that elevation, 25" is good enough. If you need 30" at sea level, you'll need more than a hand operated vacuum pump.

Q: Whats the difference between the mv8500 and mv8510? Besides the .72 cents difference.

The Mityvac website lists the MV8500 as Vacuum and the MV8510 as Vacuum/Pressure.

Q: Does this kit do both positive and negative pressure? i.e. is the hand pump component equivalent to the MV8510?
