I took the advice of someone I trusted and bought this to plug directly into a (newer) TV to use as a CCTV monitor for a hidden driveway. After hours of frustration, many re-soldered connections, adapters, re-running of cable (all assuming nothing was wrong with the camera/TV communication), I finally figured out that a DVR or NVR is needed between the camera and the TV. I ended up buying the Samsung SDH-B74041 security system, which worked flawlessly out of the box (I'm not using the companion Wisenet app yet). This camera appears to be compatible with that system, so I'll have an extra camera to use if I need it. I note that the cameras get warm when in use. This probably isn't a problem unless they're in a very confined area without air circulating around them. I wish I would have known in January what I know now and saved a lot of time and cursing.

Having used the Samsung SDC-9441BC cameras in the past I can honestly say these cameras which are the newer updated are better. For starters these have a metal casing, unlike the old plastic casing.They are all white and don't have the grey piece the old ones did that made the cameras stand out like a sore thumb. These have better night vision and I'm pretty sure they are exactly the same as the older models, however the older models had a tinted film on the night vision lights which made them come on at times they shouldn't have. These do not have that tinted film so the night vision comes on when it should. The camera itself is exactly the same as the older models as far as the picture goes so you won't see any difference there. It's not a 4 mp camera, but for a 1 mp 1080p camera it's pretty impressive. The picture is clear and has a nice viewing range. The only thing I don't like about these cameras are it doesn't have a ball joint like the older model. The older model was much easier to get the camera into whatever position you wanted. These ones have several allen wrench adjustments. A minor inconvenience, but the ball joint was just better in my opinion. These are slightly bigger then the older model.If you are trying to decide between this model of the older ones, go with these.

I have this cameras mounted for a security system, on the side of my house, unfortunately it's lost it's ability to see clearly after two years, I'm wondering if direct sunlight (sunlight shining directly in the lens) caused this, as other cameras are still going great that are protected, this one is seeing triple images blurred and thinks there is always motion on the screenis there any kind of filter I can put in front of the lens to protect it but still get good images?

Purchased this camera as a replacement to a camera that failed on our 4 camera system (See: Samsung Wisenet SDH-B74041 8 Channel 1080p Full HD DVR Video Security Camera System 4 Outdoor BNC Bullet Camera (SDC-9443BC) with 1TB Hard Drive). Purchased in July and it stopped working my November. AND now one of the other (original to the system) cameras has died so far. Very frustrating. When it works the system and camera take great footage.

Excellent indoor/outdoor I/R Camera. Very high quality and one of a few I have purchased over the years. Very reliable and excellent optics, ability to focus and outstanding Infrared range. It could be argued that the night vision is better resolution than the day,Only problem was the last one I received was a dud because mine came with no wiring which protrudes out the back.
