The shoulder straps are lightweight mesh material. Strength-wise, they could probably hold the clip, but it might not be as stable as a bag with thicker-padded straps. Hope that helps.

Q: can you hold a 24 oz hydroflask in the side pocket?

Yes, definitely. I've put my 40oz hydroflask in the side pocket. If you have a carabiner, you can even hook the loop on the lid to one of the daisy chains for extra security.

Q: How thick is it when folded?

If it is just folded in half, at its thickest point including the straps it is 0.6" (15mm) thick. You could compress it further if needed. If it is in its stuff bag, the dimensions are 3"W x 3"L x 4.5"H (7cm x 7cm x 10cm). The wight is 6 oz. (170 g).

Q: Is there actually a brown or green color bag? I only see one photo for those and it looks the same as the grey.
