What's the difference between the industrial heavy duty (6v-hd) and industrial heavy duty maximum (6v-hdm) batteries?

The 6V-HDM battery is designed for high drain frequent use devices where the 6V-HD is not.

Can this Battery be recharged?

No, it is not considered a rechargeable battery.

Carbon Zinc. Good value battery to use in a device that does put a "high drain" on the battery. In some applications the carbon zinc batteries will last over 80% as long as an alkaline battery while costing maybe two thirds as much. In other applications the carbon zink batteries will last less than half as long as an alkaline battery and therefore not be a good value choice for that application.

They have 4 F size carbon zinc cells in them. A battery is made of multiple cells. A D cell 'battery' is not a battery, but a cell.
