Q: Does this product take the place of the pucks you add after each dump and before using the toilet again or does it serve a different purpose?

We were having problems with our tank sensor light not working. Read about this product and gave it a try. The sensor light dysfunction cleared up after two tank applications. We purchased this product Fall of 2014. Because we live in FL, sometimes our tanks have a bad odor in the heat of the summer. Unfortunately, I can't attest to its performance during the hot humid FL weather as yet. To further address your question, yes, this product takes the place of the pucks, liquid or other powders used to control odor and break down solids in your black water tank. So far we have been pleased with the performance of this product and would recommend it. Dual purpose also, cleans the toilet bowl before flushing.

Q: I have a 9 gallon black tank. How much shoud I measure out? This is one scoop per 40 gallons.

Your tank represents 1/4 of a 40 gal tank size so I would use 1/4 or 1/3 of a scoop. If you find that's not enough, just add more. Use plenty of water when adding it. This stuff is amazing.

Q: Does this have a shelf life?

I purchased this back in 2017, and it worked well up until recently. I used double the amount required and then some for a week long 1000 mile trip (lots of sloshing around). We use RV TP and when I dumped there was a lot of what looked like full sheets of TP (I have a clear fitting on my macerator pump). I think it looses effectiveness over time.

Q: This product cannot be shipped to california due to the sb-317 law. what chemical in this product is prohibited in california?

They do not list it. I heard on"RV Miles pod cast" that many black tank solutions are banned in Cal due to them reacting with bacteria in the rv parks septic systems
