My old grill was falling apart, so I needed this angle iron to hold the ash tray up 👆 yes it works for me 😊

I am putting together a Non-Electrical, Emergency / Disaster Survival High-Volume Water Distillation System that can be operated over a campfire. All of the distillation equipment sits on one-half of the surface area of a large, heavy duty campfire cooking grate. Since the total weight of the distillation equipment and maximum amount of water being purified is over 85 pounds, I was concerned that the folding legs of the campfire cooking grate could collapse from the weight of the water distillation system, so I decided to add four 1"x1" solid angle stainless steel legs that could be driven straight into the ground outside the area of the campfire to help provide extra strength, stability and support to the cooking grate's legs. This 1" x 1" x 48" galvanized, stainless steel solid angle material was cut fairly easily into four legs of equal length of almost 12" using my hacksaw with a steel-cutting blade. After spray painting each leg and its hardware with matte black high temp paint, it was easy to drill a hole through each leg and the cooking grate frame to insert a galvanized stainless steel bolt with galvanized washers on each side of the grate's frame and a galvanized nut to tighten down and hold the leg solidly in place. With the four additional legs, placed at the weight=bearing point in each corner of the grate frame, being driven into the ground to support the weight of the water distillation system, I no longer worry about the campfire cooking grate collapsing and dumping boiling water on anyone standing near the cooking campfire while the water distillation system is operating.

It's a piece of steel, which is just what I expected it to be. It fit my need perfectly.
