Will they hold a plate that is 19" in diameter and weighs 10 pounds?

if you buy the proper size disk for that weight it should. you wet the plate and the disk and place them together over night. it will cover most hallmarks. I have them on pottery plates that are not slick on the back. they work well so far. my plates and chargers are not that big nor that heavy.

How do you know what size to buy? i have four decorative plates that are 8" in diameter. please reply asap!

are they invisible on a clear plate?

The color you see in the picture will visible through a clear plate.

Will this work for outdoor applications. I want to hang a platter outside on a wall and need something that will hold up to the weather.

The manufacturer recommends that the English plate hangers are not be used in an outdoor application. Moisture would weaken the glue. Sorry!
