works on Ring video doorbell
I was happy with the length of the cable but had to shorten it as it was too long. It supplies a constant even power source to the Ring doorbell I purchased but I found the low- resistance noise from the adapter was a bit intrusive so I ended up moving it away from the entrance hall. It was easy to cut the wires and then join it the Ring device.

If you don't mind the hum it's fine
This has been stable and powering my ring doorbell now for two months all the reviews about the hum are correct it is pretty loud but as long as it's plugged in away from your bedroom or living room you will not hear it. Much cheaper than rings own that had a ridiculous lead time when packaged with their doorbell. They somehow managed to split the order deliver the bell and tell me the transformer word follow 5 months later!!! so bought this one instead and cancelled the other.happy days.

Good
This is good but it makes a noise while it’s plugged in. If you don’t mind the noise then it’s ok.

Idea

This is the second one of these I have bought
I am competent to do the simple wiring that this product requires, the wires are tinned but neither is marked positive or negative, there are no markings to indicate which terminal to use on the back of the door bell,It would assist. It would assist greatly if a terminal spade was fitted.I bought an identical transformer a year ago (from Amazon) that has recently failed. I accepted that terminals may have got shorted as the bell has had to be removed on a number of occasions because of wi fi problems. I was extremely careful with the installation of the identical replacement that arrived yesterday, I used a fluke multimeter to check the power and identify the + -, I checked the wires onto the terminals on the back of the doorbell and ensured they were correct, the white ring illuminated on the doorbell showing it was hardwired, I then insulated the bare wires and fed them through a pre drilled hole to the back of the doorbell, where they were carefully connected, ensuring that the 2 wires didn’t touch to avoid any short circuit, on completion of the installation the charger was not working, I checked it with a fluke multi meter and there was no power coming out. The only possible conclusion was maybe a broken wire inside the insulation, I cut the wires back to about a metre from the transformer Whilst it was unplugged, re checked withe meter, no power coming out. I can see no reason for this happening other than this product is not suitable for the Ring 2 doorbell, so far a complete waste of £31.98 and at least 3 hours. I cannot recommend this product, I would have preferred to deal with the supplier but that is never an easy option with this service

Works out the box
Purchased for my Ring Doorbell as trying to connect to the existing doorbell was getting too complicated as needed 24V AC and just couldn't make it work, so gave up and tried this. Its cheap, works, makes no noise and the cables small enough to hide out the way. Very pleased.
