Better Quality and Price Point Than Big Box Stores
So, the quality and price is clearly better than your average offerings from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Appears to be about 2-3 times as thick as the Vigoro brand lawn cover from Home Depot. (See photos for a side by side comparison). The top is the Hoople brand, bottom is Vigoro held up in the same spot a few inches from the ground in the sun so you can see the thickness better. To get the same amount of sun blocking from the Vigoro I needed to put about three layers together, so one could guesstimate getting this amount of cover from Home Depot rolls would cost ~ $120.Vigoro is stated to last between 3-5 years so by comparison at the low end this should last 6 years or up to 15 depending on your climate. If you are looking for something a cut above the average that is still porous, will allow nutrients to get into the soil and will not pool water this is looking like the ticket. Will this last twice as long or more as Vigoro? Well, I wouldn’t want to be presumptuous. Perhaps I will update my review in 6-15 years for a definitive answer. Also, at this price you can double up on the ground cover and not break the bank for additional piece of mind and protection.

Five year warranty to do what?
Either I received a different product or reviews about this fabric are a complete fabrication! Laid this fabric under my melon vines in mid May. By the end of August it was a pain just to remove. So decomposed it fell apart as I tried to roll it up! Big box second best fabric right next to it in such good shape when I rolled it up not one tear and for sure good enough for more years to come. This product at a much lower price was still not worth even that. I wouldn't use it again even if it were free!

Doesn’t last in the Sun.
I wanted to believe that this could last a summer in Southern California, but as you can see it did not last. The parts in the shade are still good and the parts that are covered are also good. But, the parts in the sun all have turned to dust.** Update: As of September there is very little left of this weed block. On windy days, I have to clean large and small pieces out of my pool. The block under bark is still good, but every exposed piece as melted away. I bought six large rolls, so that is a lot of melting.

Definitely a keeper
Thicker than the stuff at the big boxes by about half I have just celebrated my first summer without cursing the weeds in my huge front flower bed. Not a single one all summer, not kidding.

Great for the garden!
I bought this to use in my onion garden. I burn holes in it and then plant the onions in the holes. I wanted something that was water permeable and would keep the weeds down and I have been very pleased with this. It is water permeable like similar stuff that I have bought locally but, as advertised, is thicker so should last even longer which makes me very happy.M.R.
