Has anyone experienced pitting with the Rösle 8" Stainless Steel Ice Cream Scoop?

I have not. I've had that scoop for most of two decades and it's just as good as new.

What's the diameter of the handle?

A little less than 3/4 of an inch.

All of my rosle products have a uniform rosle in the red oval. this scoop does not. it looks like a knock off. is it?does not look like one in photo

The oval logo is not red as in some other items and black instead. However, I think the item is high quality and legitimate. I bought one in 2009 and it still looks almost brand new, despite regular use. Item was sold by Amazon and not third-party reseller.
