Hi Clarairan! The 2 cup is 4.75'' in diameter, the 4 cup is 6'' in diameter and the 7 cup is 7.5'' in diameter.

Q: Is the lid microwave safe

No. Get a cover that’s made specifically to cover dishes while microwaving. You can use it over many bowls and plates. It comes with vents in the top. I have two and use them all the time.

Q: Is the 3 cup price just for one or is it a set? It shows a list price that is more than 3 times as much as the cost of the 6 cup one.

I took another look at the sets available for sale and I see that buying a set is a much better deal. The 6 piece set is $15.95; while the 3 cup by itself is $12.71 and the 6 cup is $6.29 and the 11 cup is 8.19. I don't know how to explain this other than they must come from different distributors. If I were to make this purchase again, I'd buy one of the sets.
