VERY WARM jacket
Awesome jacket! Very warm. The zip is very durable and fits like it should. This is the most expensive piece of clothing I ever owned and is very well worth the money. I would not recommend using it if you work very actively in a building, you will sweat profusely but if you intend to use it outside in the cold and snow this is perfect!

A perfectly made Coat
Although Carhartt Men's Yukon Extremes is more than twice the cost of other coats, I am extremely tired of nice looking coats lasting for 2 season before they needed major repair or the trash can. There are deals of cheaper coats but I now perfer brand name proven clothing. This is a very well made and perfect functional coat for winter. My main reason was lounging outside observing the sky during the winter. During these phisyically inactive times I can get very cold. The medium size was generous enough to wear another a sweater unerneath but still not feel comfortable. It looks plain and simple. 500 Cordura fabric is the material Motorcycle jackests of made with. It protects against light rain. The Full swing makes this jacket feel less bulky.I do no like hoods as they are very confining especially when looking at the Sky. The arm length is perfect. The zipper and snaps are heavy duty. Most of the seams are hidden or double stitched. Four large pockets with snaps. Great insulation without being balky. This is a very good price for this Coat.

Excellent overall cold weather protection, with a couple of flaws
I've worked in extreme cold environments for many years in my oilfield experience- including the ~50 below zero with 60mph winds of Western North Dakota...so the Carhartt name is familiar to me. This is a very nice, warm, windproof jacket. I've worn it in temps down to 25 below zero here in Colorado, and it was effective with those temps for hours (with matching bibs, which I'll review separately). The only thing I'd like to see different with this jacket is the outer hand pockets having no provision to secure them shut-- either snaps or zippers or velcro. They are positioned in such a way that stuff falls out of them when I bend over. I'd also love for the chest pocket to be accessible with a vertical zipper like the bibs instead of a horizontal velcro flap so I could put a cell there for easier access, but that's a small thing. One other thing I would really like to see in a future iteration is a cinch cable/strap around the mid section inside the lining to allow a tightening of the primary area of the jacket around the mid abdomen-- I'm skinny, so the reason this would help a LOT is that it would make it way more comfortable to sit in my truck seat-- as it is now it's so loose that it's very hard to sit comfortably without the jacket getting in the way of my seat belt or being bulky on my back. If I could cinch the middle of the jacket to my size better it would conform to my shape and make it easier to sit. I have another jacket that has this feature and it's a game-changer.Other than those suggestions though, this is a truly fantastic jacket (and bibs!) for the price, and I highly recommend them to anyone for cold weather weather.

Great Cold Weather Parka
April 2025. 'Just came back from a few weeks in multiple Scandinavian countries, where snow and cold winds were still present. Jacket is well made. Many pockets. (Wish they offered a variety of colors) - but highly recommend!

Pros/Cons/Sizing/Fit/Durability
Why did I buy this jacket?I needed a jacket that I could wear when performing outdoor activities and not worry about getting it messed up/damaged, and be easy to clean.Pros:-Warm! I have worn it in <20 degree Fahrenheit temperatures with no issues. Generally, I wear this jacket with either a hoodie or crewneck underneath. The coldest parts of my body are the ones that are not covered by the jacket-Great at fighting wind. I barely notice the wind, even in 10-20mph gusts, the jacket keeps me warm-Mobility is great. I was wearing this jacket to shovel snow and I had a great range of motion. I never felt like the jacket impeded my ability to shovel or move around-Plenty of pockets. Honestly, more pockets than I know what to do with-Easy to clean. I was carrying the family Christmas tree and got sap on the sleeves. On any normal jacket, this would be a pain to remove. However, just a few minutes with a lysol/clorox wipe took the sap off completely, leaving no residue. I didn't even bother putting it in the wash as it was not needed-Durability seems great thus far. I have worn it in the rain and snow with no issue. Great at holding up against pokes from sticks/branches. The jacket looks the exact same as when it arrivedCons:-The zipper can be a bit finicky. I have no issues with zipping the jacket up. However, undoing the zipper once you want to take the jacket off requires a bit of finesse-One of the features of this jacket is the ability to role back the outer/double sleeve so that the elastic cuff portion is exposed. While this is a great feature, be careful with having the sleeve rolled back and the elastic portion getting caught on the velcro. This can create some loose strands, but can be cleaned up with a piling remover or pair of scissors. (This is very minor but worth mentioning)Sizing:I am 5'7, 135 pounds, and ordered a small. The arm length is perfect, however, it is a tad tall. I would view this as a pro since if I lift my arms up, my chest is not exposed. If I could give this jacket 4.5/5 starts, that would be more appropriate.

This is the warmest coat I've ever owned
Ok first, I want to address the plastic zippers. The reason for this is very specific, since it's designed for extreme temperatures. Metal zippers in extreme cold contracts, get iced up, and don't work well, hence why it was designed with a plastic zipper. The coat is extremely durable and the warmest coat I've ever owned despite being very thin.
