People gravitate to me just to ask what perfume I'm wearing. An unusual, intoxicating scent you won't find any where else. As all the other sheep run around smelling the same wearing their Chole, Philosophy, or Tom Ford perfume, rest assured you will stand out in the crowd with this!Memoirs opens beguilingly with a fresh, bright vanilla, and grows deeper with oak and the Benzoin and Myrrh add a smoky sweetness. The smokey-vanilla scent in the opening lasts from beginning to endBlended so well none of them stick out but the notes are legible enough to be picked out individually. Memoirs incorporates the smoky, ashy components of guiac wood and myrrh to create a dark, dry, dusty vanilla with great contrast between its bitter, burnt notes and their sweeter and softer counterparts. The vanilla itself is deep and warm, and provides a solid, encompassing foundation for the base. This is a great treatment of vanilla. It's different and takes on the challenge of focusing just as much on other elements than the simple allure of an edible, gourmand vanilla note. At the same time, it's so easy to wear and could even work as a signature scent. Very good projection and longevity. Very skillful perfumery!I just do one spritz on my hair and one on the front of my top. Never on my skin because I don't want my changing chemical composition to interfere with the actual perfume.

I bought samples of like 20+ vanilla/amber/sexy perfumes on LuckyScent, and this was the only one that I loved. A few months later, I bought myself this full sized bottle as a little pick me up gift.Amazon said that it wouldn’t arrive for like 7-10 days, but it arrived in 2 and was packaged so beautifully!!! I think we are all used to the product being basically thrown in a box or bag when ordering from Amazon, but my order was packaged as a beautiful gift.It came with a lovely bookmark and a cardboard “book” wrapped in navy tissue paper. The gorgeous perfume bottle was nestled in the cardboard “book.” There were two extra perfume samples with it. Perfume is perfect; exactly like the sample.I’m just so happy with my order and this seller. This would make a beautiful gift, whether to yourself or for someone else.

Extremely niche fragrance for those of the hipster crowd but would avoid if you’re looking for a grand slam of some sort.However IA doesn’t lie about what they’re selling, definitely has this old library mystique to it; like you stumbled upon a vast room full of aged books, incense, and smoke vanilla aroma. The price is what I’m not too pleased with, but the experience is absolutely there. Would wear for Fall and cooler weather, not an everyday carry by any means.Also would not blind buy as well, IA has samples to try out.

I have worn this for years as my signature scent. The dark woody vanilla gets sooooo many compliments while you are out. It last about 10 hours on me and isn't overpowering. I definitely highly recommend it to anyone looking for a vanilla scent.

I love the scent however it won't spray after a few uses. After spending over $100 on a bottle, I'm a bit upset about this, actually very upset about this.

I love Imaginary Authors in theory. The story behind each fragrance and the intriguingly offbeat combination of notes is right up my alley. But they are selling fragrances that perform like EDTs **at best** (really they perform like a $5 body spash from Target if I'm being blunt) for the cost of an actual EDP. I bought their full storybook off their website because I was so excited to try all of them. Not a single one has lasted longer than hour, and even then only as a skin scent. Of the selection, Memoirs is beautiful but has no projection, longevity or sillage. Put your money into a similar fragrance profile from a brand that makes EDPs that actually perform like EDPs. As it is, I have 30 of their fragrances now that are only good for spritzing at home to uplift my mood for the short time I can actually smell them.

Imaginary authors’ perfumes are unique and different to what most people are wearing. This is a plus. I bought this scent after sampling several (there are more scents on my shortlist to buy, but these will have to wait for a later time). The presentation is great (the bottle comes in a little book). The scent is one of my favorites.
