Q: if the total time is 10-15 seconds how long would i iron each layer if I am doing several layers?

I do each layer 3-5 seconds and depending on how it looks, the last layer for full time.

Q: My letters came off of the shirt i put them on with a heat press after sleeping in it. i used a towel to buffer the heat? what do i need to do?

When i first started using htv this happened to one of the shirts i made. I put same piece of the carrier sheet i used for my design back over it and heat pressed it again for about 10 seconds and it never came off again. If you dont have the piece you used you can also use butcher paper to protect your design.
