An Amazon search for chew-resistant beds turned up the Big Barker beds, and I bought them thinking that the 10-year warranty applied to the entire unit. It turns out that the beds are not chew-resistant, and were never described that way by the manufacturer (my bad -- I should have read more carefully); more, that the warranty applies only to the foam (for this one, the Amazon headline was/is definitely misleading -- again, not the manufacturer's fault). So the beds arrived, and the dogs (11 months, husky-shepherd mix) love them. They chewed through one of the covers the first night, but have done no further damage. The beds are attractive, huge, and of evident quality: I have no doubt that they will last a long time.When I contacted the manufacturer after seeing the damage after one night, they were most gracious. New - even more sturdy - covers were sent that day , and at a greatly reduced price.So 5 stars to Big Barker, and perhaps fewer for the (in this case) misleading Amazon search page.

Absolutely the best dog bed. Each of my dogs have their own. Helps with orthopedic issues and well worth the money.

I got this as a Christmas present for my 9-year-old GSD. I also bought the waterproof liner. This bed has exceeded my expectations. It is very thick and does not deflate or compress when my 95 lb. dog is on it, which is a lot; the cat even sleeps on it from time to time. I’ve sat and lain on it as well and it is so comfortable that I could sleep on it. It is also light and can be picked up relatively easily when cleaning. It’s worth every penny. Great product.

We recently moved to a house w no steps, two family members (a 2 legged & 4 a legged) were struggling with the stairs to the 2nd level of the 2 family we lived in. While moving a friend asked how many dogs we have, just the 2 I replied, I lost my GSD almost 2 yrs ago. My friend then asked why I had so many dog beds (9) since OBVIOUSLY my dog slept w me because I had heavy duty steps made to access my bed. I laughed and explained it started so the dogs had a bed in the living room, my dog is now 13 and struggled getting up on the hardwood floors so if he's on a bed he can get up much easier, however my mom's 85# Bassett likes beds too, even w his own he will rotate between them cause he flattens them out, aggravating but understandable. I wasn't overly concerned because my dog sleeps with me. I started a quest looking for a good bed for Cezar that wouldn't flatten out when Charlie slept on it, during this time, Cezar suffered a condition called old dog disease which mimics a stroke, lasts 7-10 days but causes the dog to stumble and fall the eyes dart repeated to one side effecting the vision and balance, very scary makes the dog anxious and nervous so they pace but constantly fall then can't get up, he would try to climb the steps to my bed but would fall so I would lift him on and off my bed, now he has a cyst on the inside of his rear leg which effects his balance so I have the old dog beds around my bed to cushion when he falls off my bed, hence all the dog beds. I realized at some point I'm going to have to remove the steps, I worry what will happen if he falls while I'm at work, this was causing me alot of stress, it also made me sad to think he wouldn't be sleeping with me and made me mad that every "good" nice bed I buy Charlie ruins! I saw the big Barker on Amazon, I went back and forth reading and rereading the benefits and reviews. I compared it with other higher priced beds but what set it apart was the 10 year warranty, nobody else offers that or stands behind their bed like that. My next dilima was do I really want to spend that much on a bed that my dog will probably not use and I didn't want to spend that much for a bed that Charlie will take over... Eventually I decided it would be worth it, the time is coming that my boy will not be able to get up on my bed and I want him to be just as comfortable in a bed of his own and hopefully happy. I received the bed on Tuesday let it air out for 24 hrs, put it down Wednesday night and Charlie was stretched out and had a wonderful night sleep, Cezar checked it out last night and to my surprise he owns it, he loves it and hasn't let Charlie on it since!! I am shocked, thrilled, happy and sad, I missed him last night but I am so relieved that I don't have to worry about him falling and hurting himself trying to get on my bed when I'm not here, he looks so happy and peaceful, I caught myself just watching him sleep, I think this purchase is the best thing I could have done for him and I want everyone to know it is worth it, if you are on the fence about the purchase all I can say is if u love your dog it's worth the risk, I bought this bed for a dog that didn't sleep in dog beds and I couldn't be happier!

Extremely well made memory foam dog bed with micro fiber zip cover. Excellent directions upon opening as to what to expect and how...as it ships vacuum shrunk in a box about 1/4 the size of the bed. Website provided for quick registration of the 10 YEAR WARRANTY and a quick welcome video. This bed may seem pricier than most until you add up how many beds you may purchased over the years!! AND how many provided a 10 year warranty? None. The convenience of being able to order a replacement micro fiber cover is nice as well...if your pup enjoys 'digging and softening up' their blankets prior to plopping down. (4-19-17) It has been well over 6 months now and just a quick update. The bed cover is easy to remove and wash. It has been only removed and washed once as my 3 rescues pup's are strictly house canines and only go out in their fenced backyard to do their business and the middle pup enjoys her extra time sunbathing. My point being they are very clean and do not roll around/play in dirt/go in a lake/ the ocean/etc., while in the house, they pretty much surround me-which is why the first bed-this bed-(as I have ordered another w/the headrest) has to be in the living room. Unfortunately for the largest pup (100 lbs+) if I do not see one of the female pup's; one is 77 lbs and the other is 18 lbs; they will occupy the large pup's bed when I am watching the boob tube or reading and he is very gentle w/the smaller females. The headrest bed will be going into the MBR at the end of the bed where 2 older beds are on top of each other for the large pup. We will be donating those beds to our animal shelter...and hopefully now the big pup will look forward to going to bed in his new headrest Big Barker bed! This is a bed for 75 lb and up pup's that will END your annual/bi-annual search for a new dog bed. The quality of the construction/the customer service/ the promptness in answering an email question are outstanding. I have spent 10 to 20x what this bed cost in dog beds over the years!! The little pup is the one who likes to sneak onto it if the large pup is on the sectional with me....so technically...this is the canine bed to END ALL YOUR FUTURE CANINE bed purchases...from a breeds of German Sheppard's or large resuce's to a small pup...they will all try and get their BIG BARKER BED TIME! I have not been compensated nor do I have any financial interest in Big Barker dog beds...I am a consumer like you who hesitated over the thought of spending so much for a dog bed until it was here and once placed on the living room floor next to the coffee table thing....thus began the 'proof' that is a well loved bed for any sized canine but is designed for larger pup's. Have confidence in knowing when your friends or relatives poke fun at you for such a purchase....just add up what you have spent thus far for the various canines you have had grace your life....then figure the future purchases to replace the other beds you may buy....and the math is heavily in Big Barker bed's favor! I am going to need one more for here in my office! Another update in 6 months or so.
