Received this 2 days before shoulder surgery. Will work great. I can ice the shoulder and be mobile. There is a plastic side and a soft side. You can freeze and use either side. The plastic side will be closer to your skin (with something in between your skin and the ice pack) and hence feel the cold a lot more than the soft side. So there are some options there. I'm petite and was worried this would be too large for me but this one is perfect. Happy I made the purchase. I actually bought 2 of these, 1 for my shoulder and the other one waiting in the freezer. Will update how long the cold stays cold for.

Worked well for keeping my shoulder area cool and helped a lot with reducing my pain from post-rotator cuff surgery. Easy to re-chill for re-use. I bought two of these so that I'd always have a cold one to use while the other was re-chilling in the freezer. A little awkward to put on myself without help, but I learned tricks to make that work for me in the middle of the night, such as leaning against the counter to hold a strap in place while I handled getting it on and ready to use. Despite this, it is a great item for riding in the car, or for sitting in a lounge chair, or for walking around--keeping my shoulder chilled.

The product works well. Initially, the item is worn on the velvet/cloth side first, close to the skin, for twenty minutes. However, during that time the vinyl side which is exposed to the outer air begins to frost-up, melt, and drips on your arms and clothing. So, now a towel is needed to be used to wipe the melting condensation off the item. This is very inconvenient.

This has been a lifesaver. One person can put this on and take it off. The only complaint I would have about this is that the package it comes in, that I sit in the freezer, is not big enough for it to lay open flat.

While this truly helped my broken shoulder, to this day, I have not been able to figure out how to put it on. Maybe it's just me, but the straps, to my mind, are ridiculous and hard to use--in fact for me, impossible! I simply draped it over my shoulder, it hung down on my arm, and that was that. It does stay icy for a long time, and it does the job, but for an older person, it is too hard to use.

I am recovering from a fractured shoulder and this ice pack is wonderful, especially after physical therapy.

This is very snug on my shoulder and applies the cold to where the pain is. I can adjust the tightness with the straps very easily
