Q: Why is there no off switch and why do batteries drain so easily??

The text says "more than 100 hours" of operation. One answer below says "it eats batteries", which I take to mean you don't get anywhere near up to 100 hours of use out of a set of batteries. Please explain?

I know that it is possible since I did it. As I remember the instructions were not very helpful. I am no longer using the radio because the reception was not adequate for me.

I don't believe that my version has any weatherband channels, just AM and FM, which seem to scan okay for me, as they obviously do for you.

Q: Can you turn off the display while listening in a dark room?
