Slick little gadget. Well made but not as rugged as it looks
I got this to attach my cell phone (Galaxy S7 with Otterbox case) to a tripod. It does that well but is just a little too small to easily fit over the rubberized Otterbox case. I can make it fit, but it would sure be nice if it expanded another 1/4 inch or so. It is a good looking unit despite being made of plastic. The tripod socket is lined with metal however and it fits on all of my several tripods. The grip is good (especially with the rubber case on the phone) so overall it works as good as other units I've had but looks a lot better. It has a small pull out leg so it can act as a phone holder on flat surface but I haven't used that feature very often.

Solid and Functional
I thought I would step up to a little nicer phone holder for a mini tripod I have, after a less expensively designed model of a different brand had its rubber gripping fall off. This is a very well made phone holder, and it is holding up quite well after owning it for several months and use a few times each week. Having metal threads, I'm not worried about any trouble with mounting it to a tripod. I will say this has a plastic flip-out stand so you could lean your phone on a surface, and that plastic piece seems flimsy, and I would anticipate it breaking if you weren't careful. As for the size of a phone you could use, if it's 3.25 inches wide and under, you'll have no problem (minimum width is 2.25 inches). A phone thicker than .5 inches wouldn't be advisable, which you should consider if you want to keep a case on your phone (I don't). I think a good question to ask is, if you lost this thing, would you buy it again, and in this case, I would. It's solid and functional.

Good, solid smartphone clamp, but perhaps a bit too tight for larger phones
I bought this clamp for a Samsung Galaxy A11. I carefully verified that its specified width would accept my phone, which it does, just barely.I can put it on with a bit of effort (one attempt had me slingshotting the clamp and my handle across the counter). It's so tight that I worry it might put stress on my phone's frame. I have been leaving the clamp with something very wide clamped into it overnight, hoping it might exert some wear on the spring and perhaps loosen it up a bit during normal usage. But it does hold the phone extremely well and its balance while using it is, nice, natural feeling. I'm using a small microphone shaped handle which came with a Zoom audio recorder but the clamp also works well on my Manfroto monopod and on the many and sundry tripods I have on hand.I would not hesitate to buy this very secure clamp, but would warn anyone with phones which come close to its specified maximum width to be sure they know that it's very, very tight.

Works perfect Nice strong clamp for a tripod or mounting with a shoe on camera
I recently sold my DJI osmo Pocket just due to I never use it only except for time lapse. So I ended up using and wanting to use my phone for time lapse It doesn't do motion time lapse but it still does what I wanted to. I have a Google Pixel XL 3 and it fits my Pixel 2 XL perfectly fine. It's definitely got some serious grip. I have a little guerrilla pod that I mounted it to. has a quarter inch thread on the bottom as well as the back and a flip out so it can rest on a table flat surface. It's small it simply fits in my camera gear bag. I'm impressed I like it I also have a shoe mount that I mount on the top of my Panasonic DC g9 and then I can mount my phone to the top if I'm shooting some video or just wanted to connect my phone. To my camera works good.

Simple, minimalist phone holder
I gave it 5 stars because I can’t find anything wrong with it. It’s a simple minimalist design, perfect for use on my monopod with a tilt or ball head. Don’t mind the plastic, saves weight. I’ve had a couple of “nicer” metal variations with screw down clamps but I much prefer the simpler spring clamp, so much faster to put phone on and off the clamp, it’s like night and day.I see some people seem to be breaking these, perhaps because they’ve used them in frigid temperatures....? I’ve owned this mount for nearly 2 years now and have taken it on day hikes and backpacking trips, not a single issue. If it breaks I’ll get another of the same. Thank you.

Awesome to have in your bag!
This simple, yet effective phone mount is great to have. Fits almost any current smart phone and holds it very securely.Quality:For those not familiar with the Manfrotto name, they make very high quality gear. I have several try-pods, video heads, sliders, and other camera gear from them and I am never disappointed. This quick-to-attach mount is no exception. I use it with the Manfrotto Pixi Evo 2 Mini Tri-Pod for instances where my DSLR and full try-pod is not necessary. I have used other cell phone mounts in the past and they can be quite flimsy and cheap. This mount feels neither and has done it's job superbly. This mount has a vertical and horizontal mount screw, as well as a "kick stand" not the back for propping your phone up for watching videos. It's a nice extra feature that they didn't have to include. Many other similar mounts found on amazon offer less features and quality for the same price range.Dislikes:My only complaint is I wish that it had a lever or something to use to expand while inserting your phone. It's not the end of the world, but it would have been nice. I also had some concerns about the noise the spring makes when you pull the ends part to slide your phone in, but after a lot of use, it seem to have no negative impact on the unit. Months later, still no signs of breaking or damage.
