I’ve used 1% Retinol products for years., with great results. I’m 55 years old and am often mistaken for 30-35; and I was a sun ABUSER; I never used sunscreen till I was 35 years old!! I have mild crow’s feet and shallow smile lines. I switched from Skinmedica Retinol 1% to this product bc of the higher concentration of RETINOL, amount of product and affordability. I also use the RETINOL SERUM 2.5% with the cream. Even though the strength is stronger and I’ve never used a RETINOL SERUM and CREAM together, I have experienced no redness, peeling, dryness nor any sign of irritation on my face, neck, décolletage or arms or hands. . I feel this is amazing because I have rosacea and extremely sensitive skin. My face is smooth and glows. I’ve never used any RETINOL product on my legs and knees. Even though I’m very athletic and have muscular legs, skin is skin and I recently noticed the DREADED saggy skin around my knees.YUCK!!!! Unfortunately, with age comes a decrease in collagen (and no sunscreen for 35 years, doesn’t help!!). To help this NASTY “ showing my age” area LOL, I’ve started to apply the RETINOL SERUM AND CREAM. Within a week I noticed a HUGE difference in skin firmness around my knees (YAY!!) and legs. Because this is a virgin area to RETINOL, there has been a great amount of peeling. THATS OKAY- it’s my knees, not my face. After 3 days of peeling, there is much less flaking. I had thick scars from a bad fall while training for a marathon. These scars are about 50% less noticeable after a week. Sounds weird, but my knees and legs have a glow to them!!! This is a VERY SMOOTH, moisturizer with absolutely no odor. My upper body does not need any extra moisturizer, even with this strength of RETINOL. My knees, because it’s a strong level to start with and applied to an area never exposed to RETINOL does require a little extra cream an hour after I apply the RETINOL. For best results, use in conjunction with the RETINOL SERUM.
