The instructions are WRONG and VERY POOR! BUT!!! I was able to figure it out with the help of other reviews and some trial and error. Here’s what you need to do to get it workingStep 1. You need to UPDATE the pen using a windows PC. go to ifyoo.net and click "Support" top right. Scroll down until you see the pen and select "Upgrade Tool" to download needed files.Step 2. Extract the zip and run "FnkUpdate.exe" & Plug the Pen into computerStep 3. Hold Home, X, Y for 3 seconds, You should see the button within the fnkupdate.exe program become clickable, once that happens click "Update Firmware". Should only take a minute or two.Step 4. Head over to your switch and select controllers, & then Change Grip/Order. Now take the pen and Hold Home, X & Y for a few seconds. The controller should now say Paired and pop up as if it's a Pro controller.Hint: If that doesn't work, try putting switch on dock and connecting pen to switch by the cable and try again. Then you can remove it/unplug. You should be all set.I got this for my 5-year-old, who’s left-handed, and while the design isn’t perfect for lefties, he loves it and says it doesn’t bother him. Overall, once it was set up, the pen works great, and he’s really happy with it!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:It’s awful and that’s why I bought it. Buy this for a joke, if you’re intending to use this as your main stylus, you should look elsewhere.

This stylus worked perfectly once you download the software.

This is a fantastic concept; Unfortunately, execution is a bit lacking:First, clearly not designed for lefties but still usable, though 'up' is 'down' and vice-versa. 'Y' and 'A' buttons are strangely reversed from what would be expected for any handedness, but they (and the side buttons) can be remapped in the system setting.But the D-pad is the achilles heel: nearly useless for its ostensive purpose of testing Mario Maker levels for more than a few seconds. Further, it emulates one of the STICKS, which makes no sense because that moves the cursor (at least in Mario Maker), which isn't needed with a STYLUS! And sticks cannot be remapped except to the other stick, so half the buttons on the device are functionally useless.Device is solidly made and I like the exaggerated size, so three stars for that. But it could have been so much better, and hopefully a firmware update will at least change it to a true D-pad, if only so it can be mapped to four other functions.

I'll add instructions for updating underneath if anyone needs them but I'm gonna start off my saying be prepared to do all of this and it might not even work. I updated the pen one time and it stopped powering on even though it was securely connected through the whole update process. I never even got to try to connect it to my switch. I do not recommend this product but some people have luck with it.Anyway, the pen didn't have instructions for updating the drivers but if you want to give it a shot you go to Ifyoo.com on a computer and then press the menu in the top right corner and select "support". Then you scroll until you find the product and download the update to your computer. Then you unzip the file and click the application to run it while your pen is connected to the computer. It should direct you from there. I did it all for nothing though because after the first update the pen stopped powering on completely even though it was connected the whole time. So be aware that you have a 50/50 shot at actually getting to use this thing and it's pretty sad. I will be sending mine back but I hope you all have better luck with this poorly designed product.

I bought this for my 11 yr old to use with Mario Maker 2. She is absolutely thrilled with this thing. She loves that she can move objects and erase things with ease. It makes building levels so much easier and quicker she said. Also it's a controller too. She tests the levels while building them. Very happy with this purchase.

Brought this for my nephew he loves it! Was easy to connect and works well.

I’m satisfied and it works well. But it will take me a little longer to learn to use it effectively.It’s big for my 5 year girl. Fit to adult.
