Q: Where is this peeler made?

I'm sure the real product is made in Sweden. I carelessly ended up ordering it via Amazon Prime from seller "GeouFfkuhbk" (seller info: "GeouFfkuhbk storefront / Just launched / No feedback yet"). The item received has no brand or origin markings, was in a generic plastic bag, and says on the bag's label "Made in China". It fell apart on first use; the blade detached from the metal swivel shaft. It's going back, will try to reorder from a seller with good feedback to get a genuine Linden peeler.

Q: Do you use this by peeling away from yourself? I have one that looks just like this, but (I'm a righty) you have to peel towards yourself! No good!

I bought this because it is ideal for peeling small things, like small potatoes, or an apple. I find its size so helpful - you can hold the object with your thumb and peel towards your body using your remaining fingers. That's the way my mother taught me and for me it's still the most efficient way to peel. I bought a super sharp peeler that you pull and found it too heavy and cumbersome. And useless for anything small. Also the wide blade crosswise to the handle was just super inconvenient. Maybe I'm getting old, but I had a hard time making it connect and then pulling.

Q: Many peelers take too deep of a peel off the potato or carrot, wasting vitamins. How does this one perform in that regard?

This peeler is VERY sharp. And that's a good thing. But if you are too aggressive it can take off a deep peel. So take a breath and don't attack that cucumber, just use less pressure. Your veggie will thank you, and so will your arm.
