Great Product for Breastfeeding Mothers
I haven't used these for my new baby yet, as he has not been born yet! But I am reviewing them because I used them when I breast fed 2 out of my 3 of my other babies. The 1st couple weeks of nursing can be brutal. Having these saved my life. I ordered a double pack. You need one to store in the fridge while you use one set. They rinse off easily and are heavenly when you are sore in those first couple weeks. I breast fed my 1st for 9 months, my second for 17 months and my 3rd for 2 years. I only had these for my last two and I knew to order them right away. They are a must have. Other brands leave a gross gel like substance on your nipples after use. these are rubbery and leave no residue. I believe I used them for 2- 3 weeks or so until I adjusted.

Definitely follow the instructions to avoid problems like that.
These gel pads were a total life saver for me.I had a couple of disappointments with them - one was that I bought too many, and couldn't return them (check the return policy). The other disappointments were all my fault. I was soaking them in water during feedings, and started to have some yeast issues. Also at some point I kept a pair in a sealed box at room temperature for several days and it started molding. Definitely follow the instructions to avoid problems like that.

They don't sit/form around the nipple and breast very well. I prefer reusable wool soakers (Bamboobiez) and nipple cream over this.

Best thing for breast feeding
These soothing pads are the best if you get sore while breast feeding. They are instantly cooling and provide great pain relief. Unlike other brands, they can be reused for a week. I used them the first two weeks after giving birth to two of my children. A must have, especially for new mothers who will be nursing babies for the first time.

Life Savers!!! Got me through the first 7 weeks of pain and was able to nurse problem-free after that.
Breastfeeding was painful for me for the first five weeks with my first child and for the first seven weeks with my second child. I stuck it out both times and it was worth it in the end, but I felt like I was going to die for those first weeks. I did not use these hydrogels the first time (I have found most of the lactation consultants I saw pretty unhelpful) and struggled through with Lansinoh and lots of tears. A lactation consultant offhandedly mentioned these to me when I realized I was going to have the same problem with my second child. Some nipples just have to be toughened up for a few weeks before they can take the burden of nursing. NOTE - if you use these, do not use any other cream. Just put these back on whenever you are not nursing. You will still have discomfort, but they will soothe you, your nipples will be able to heal and toughen up and eventually you will be able to stop using these.

You still have to wash your nipples after use/before breastfeeding again
I was given a pair of Medela gels in the hospital when my tongue-tied infant chomped my nipples to bits and gave me blood blisters within the first few hours. I loved how they helped ease the pain, but hated having to wash off before feeding him again (because really, you want as little as possible touching your nipples when they hurt that bad, and who wants to have to wash them every few hours and undo all the relief the gels bring?!). I bought these because some of the reviews and answers said they wouldn't require nipple washing after use. Well, that's not true. Right on the package it says to rinse your nipples after each use before feeding again. Bummer. These are less "washy" than the Medela ones, as they say to 'wash breast with warm water and pat dry' - no soap requested, which is a relief. But still. I otherwise have no complaints, they do provide relief, especially when refrigerated, I just don't like having to wash off. So, just good to know for future buyers.
