For Small spaces
I use this in a basement room like 10X12 feet. It's a little too small for the room and moisture level. It works just fine but struggles a little to keep up. I could see this working great in a closet or bathroom. It is a lot quieter than a compressor type. It uses a lot less power.

Worthless
Placed unit in a 10ft x 10ft room in basement @ 50-60F degrees, which was at 60% humidity, per a Digital Hygrometer.Ran the Eva-Dry Edv-2400 Electric Dehumidifier with Humidistat for 4 days and humidity was not reduced. On the 5th day went into room and the unit wasn't working at all.Called Eva-Dry and got a bunch of double talk. Now i have to wait and go through the return process. Need to drop the unit at a UPS store 80 Miles away.If i could give this product and this company anything below one star i would.

Eliminate damp air at the beach
This is wonderful. We plug it in by the sink and run the hose directly into the drain. It isn't an eyesore and works so well. Such a relief not to have the mildewy smell you get from being closed up. We use our beach place each weekend. Anyone who has a beach place will understand. I'm sure it will work just as well in any closed up space that you want to keep fresh.

Performs poorly in cold weather
We bought this model to keep in our RV while it is in storage. After a cold snap (normally our lows here stay above freezing but we did have a few days where it was in the teens) I went to the check on the camper and found that the intakes to the dehumidifer were clogged with ice. After warming up the unit I was able to remove the ice and it started working again (no damage). We've had other Eva-Dry dehumidifiers that have continued working in similar conditions so it's disappointing to see that this one doesn't. Other than the icing problem the unit has worked well, having the drain is a really nice feature.

Seems to work as advertised
Showed up quickly with no assembly. I use it on my canvased boat that is stored in covered storage in Florida with lots of humidity. It sits on deck of the boat and the clear plastic tube runs to one of the aft drains. It keeps the cushions from mildewing which is a must for any decent boat if you want to keep it in great shape.

not effective even in small space
I really wanted to like this dehumidifier--from the specs it seemed it would perfectly fit my need for lowering the medium-high humidity( 65%) in my small (9x10) bedroom. I even bought the higher capacity model (2400 vs 1100 cubic feet), because I know manufacturers typically overestimate the capacity and area effectiveness of their products. (My bedroom works out to less than 1100 cubic feet, so figured I'd be well in the range of the product's stated 2400 cu ft capacity).Plugged it in, turned it on. Humidity read 65% at 77 degrees. I ran it for 24 hours, and that 65% reading did not budge an inch. At one point it even went up to 68%! Double checked with another hygrometer. Tried a few different locations and heights, to no avail. Checked the water tank in the morning, and there was only a dribble of water there after running it overnight. What a disappointment. I'm assuming the product was not defective--the controls all worked and there was no strange noise or smell or anything that would indicate product failure. My guess is that the capacity of this dehumidifier is incorrectly rated. It might be good for a small (very small) bathroom, or a closet with the door shut--but is was inadequate for lowering moderately high humidity in my 9x10 bedroom. I'm returning the product and will search for another alternative.

A good choice for light duty dehumidification in smaller spaces.
I bought one of these for my GF to help out her Mini splits in an ADU of just shy of 600 sq ft that struggle with the southern humidity some times of the year. It has made a considerable difference - helping drop the humidity from above 60% down to the 50% range -with the humidistat set for 50%.I bought the smaller model (1200) for the call room where I work and it has performed well. I got this larger unit (2400) for her place because of the larger water tank and because of the humidistat. She is quite pleased with the difference it makes. The Achilles Heel of this device is that it is not designed to be cleaned easily. I would suggest all regularly clean the grilles on the sides and top where air flows to keep dust down. An occasional blast with canned air (unplugged obviously) on a cooled device would be beneficial. As dust builds up on the heat sink it will diminish the ability of it to work well.Compared to the 1200, it seems a little louder but still quieter than a compressor type unit and it draws less power as well. For spaces in the 600- 800 sq foot range I think this will do what most people are looking for. For larger spaces or exceptional humidity I would suggest a compressor or desiccant type dehumidifier.

Ineffective
Our room is less that 1000 cubic feet and this thing couldn't pull a cup of water when humidity is very high. Useless product, false advertising about the room size or effectiveness.
