Q: Can you use 4 rechargeable D cells(instead of the battery pack) in this lamp?

No and not even D cell. I purchased (1/2023) this lamp as confirmed by the product SKU number. It is possible the product changed or the SKU number has changed in the listing. Please see my product review. I tried to report this to Amazon but the report feature is broken for me.
