A wonderful story with beautiful graphics
I had previously watched a gameplay before I made this purchase, and honestly, watching someone else play does not do the game itself any justice. The story of Ryza and her friends is both comical and endearing and it has kept me interested at every turn. The graphics are beautiful and I truly wish more games were made like this. I recommend this to anyone who is into rpg games :’)

A new favourite!
I saw a YouTuber review the Atelier series and they looked very appealing to me. A great story and great combat. The alchemy can get confusing but it’s still enjoyable. So enjoyable, I bought more from the series!

Great game 👏☺️
Takes a while to learn things . But once your used to the gameplay there is quite a story involved. This game is like playing a studio Ghibli film with a battle system very similar to final fantasy . Unique characters with amusing dialogue . Overall a great game 👏☺️

Easy, relaxing, obsessive fun
This game was such a surprise. Looks great on switch putting games with much larger budgets to shame. If you like crafting, collecting and old school mid 2000s atb battle systems then this game is for you.

Thick thighs saves lives In this Nintendo switch JRPG
Excellent Nintendo switch game. It’s a classic JPG with turn based combat. There is some chemical and potion as well as cooking options in the game as well. The main selling point here I think is The character Ryza which is very well drawn and clearly emphasizes her thighs. The background music is very well-made and the sound effects are very well crafted. This is a classic RPG so for those who does not enjoy based combat, this may not be the game for you the setting of the game is also very interesting. It is set in a fantastical world where you fight monsters and other creatures. The story itself is not something to rave about, but it is very engaging. Sometimes the combat gets repetitive, but you have the option of picking four characters to join you in the combat short game is an excellent Nintendo switch and provide hours of fun.

A relaxing game. No sense of rush, or overly complex plot. Good intro to genre
This is my first Atelier game. Before that I had many preconceptions of the genre. Waifu fan service games full of panty shots with no depth, to thrill the average otaku hikkimori or NEET.It couldn't be further from the truth.I'm only midway through, but the game centres around some 3 kids basically looking to escape the banality of their remote island existence. The game mostly goes around a crafting/alchemy as it's major feature. You make money, gear, story progression using this feature. It can get quite additive trying to find a way to optimise your production of items to boost others, and you'll find yourself saying, one more craft before I sleep....a hundred times. There is no randomness with the crafting, so it is a well thought of system which is the core of the series. The conversations are typically Japanese. There is mostly friendly humour, with some Japanese archetypes. If you've never played or watched anything Japanese before, it may be a bit of a hard sell to you. But part of the selling point of the game is that it's meant to be RELAXING .They're not going after some space time continuum altering god born from the congregated hatred of generations of their people being grown and harvested by a technologically superior race for mundane things like making sushi taste silkier, or fart scents dissipate a trillionth of a second faster. They're teens going on a friggin adventure and occasionally finding their pants aren't big enough, but powering through via personal challenges and alchemy, not just the power of friendship. The battle system was interesting, and can turn out to be quite fast paced. It's an active turn based system where you can continously trigger actions based on following character requests, eg use an item, lower enemy stats, use fire magic etc, so something is always happening, which sometimes can be hard to keep track of given the tons of passive skills characters gain along the game. But it doesn't feel out of depth because you can pick which character to control in battle, eg you want to focus on healing, of spamming a fire spell for a certain enemy. It certainly has a good amount of complexity that doesn't bury the player. Because of the constant triggering of abilities, it looks 'busy' rather than waiting for your character's turn, which is good.So overall, I'd say it's a good game for anyone coming to the genre for the the first time. I'm told it's a pretty short game if you want it to be, but I've no intention of powering through it, nor do I havethe time to. I've not looked at any walkthroughs so far and am doing just fine.Would I recommend it as a working parent ? Yes. Sometimes you just want to kick back and relax, not talk to rude SOBs and DOBs while playing an FPS.
