One issue is that the existing mic uses phantom power. Using this splitter cable, plugging in a second mic cuts the power to the existing mic. Not in my knowledge whether this is "standard". A splitter cable will allow two sources to work at the same time, right? I have to remove the second mic from the cable, for the existing mic to work. The second mic is an audio line output, with a mic input so that I can join up the cable and feed the combined audio to the socket (to the PA). There is only one socket nearby, where the PA is some 15 metres away.

Does the job
I needed a y splitter to go to my controller as there was only one xlr lead at the job i was on and this done the job for me perfect , it might be a piece of kit you only use once in a while but very handy to have
