Anthology of Love: Boxed Set

Overall, I didn't enjoy this series. Love & Misadventure I gave 2 stars because I could relate to the poetry and I found that she couldn't rhyme very well. Lullabies I gave 3 stars as I thought it improved but still wasn't very engaging. The Universe of Us was the only one that I enjoyed. There was less poetry and more short prose which Lang Leav does well.

While the illustrations are lovely and the writing is poignant, the book itself becomes redundant. It regurgitates so many of the themes, vocabulary and forms of writing in ways that are lacklustre and disappointing.It’s a fun gimmick of poetry and alleged “prose”, but a gimmick is all it is. No real depth beyond the aesthetic performance of love, affection and petty desire.

Hard to find so it was a great present!
