Great for post op hip replacement use!
This has been an absolute lifesaver! I recently had a hip replacement, and the bars on this are an absolute must have! The foam seat is soft enough to be comfortable with a sore bum, but firm enough for support. Very sturdy, easy to put together, and comfy. 10/10 recommend!

Sturdy and easy to assemble
I bought this for my elderly aunt(91). It was very easy to assemble. She loves the padded seat. She only weighs 130 lbs but I had someone else heavier sit on it to check for support. It seems to be very sturdy. Easy to adjust the height. She also loves the color which may not seem important but it makes her happy

Better than I expected
I rarely write a review on the first day of receiving an item I have purchased, but this padded seat was definitely a good purchase. It’s sturdy and was so easy for me (I’m 74) to put together. This chair is for my husband who is recovering from heart attack and several setbacks. It took only a few minutes to construct and was easily adjusted.

Over the toilet chair
Needed because I had a knee replacement. It is very comfortable and padded well. My only issue is the opening for using the bathroom is not very large. You have to be careful or your urine will drop on the floor. I have adjusted for me.

Mixed emotions
I bought this toilet riser to get me through hip replacement surgery when they don't want you bend past a 90 degree angle during recovery. I'm 5'5" tall with a typical height toilet, so I couldn't quite squeak by without one of these. I spent a lot of time reading so many reviews on way too many options and settled on this one, but it does have drawbacks. Unfortunately, I think all of the choices do. Here are my pros and cons:Pros:1. It's sturdy and plenty wide enough unless you are more than a bit obese.2. Height adjustable. If you only need 2" instead of 5" height, it's possible with this seat.3. It has no sharp edges.4. Assembly and disassembly is intuitive and needs no tools. It does come with instructions, though.5. It fits both round and elongated toilets.6. The seat can be angled by shortening the front legs one notch so that your knees stay below your hips while sitting as they are supposed to after hip replacement surgery. The chair still feels stable.7. It's easy to move if you share a toilet with someone else who doesn't need it.8. It's not made in China! It's from Taiwan. They shipped it in a very thick, sturdy, plain brown box that will be good when I want to put it into storage and didn't advertise to the neighbors what I purchased while it was sitting on my front porch.Cons:1. The straight bar across the front gets in the way of cleaning yourself unless you are tall and have twigs for legs. I can't do it at my height without standing and find that quite awkward. It would be a real problem for someone needing help to stand or transfer. What happened to the curved front bar in earlier pictures of this chair? This bar goes straight across the front open area of the pail/splash guard instead of in front of it.2. The sides of the splash guard are steeply slanted towards the opening in the bottom rather than vertical. Splash-up is inevitable and an infection risk for females. If you have diarrhea? Yikes!!3. The flare at the front of the seat, while comfortable, is not really needed (regular seats don't flare), and makes access for cleaning more narrow than it needs to be.For reviews that complain that the seat is hard when it calls itself padded: You can compress the seat with your hands, so it is padded, but it's thankfully a very, very firm pad that doesn't compress too much. If you have sore points on your bottom that you were hoping to get relief from while sitting on this seat, this won't be what you are hoping for, but it's better than hard wood or plastic. Finally, I'd like to note that when I received this item I received a "VIP Invitation" to get free products/free shipping from the seller for writing un-biased reviews for them on other products. Thank you, but no. I don't need to be weighed down with things I don't need and think Amazon already has way too many reviews written by people who get free stuff from sellers. How can they be unbiased or understand the pros and cons of things they wouldn't otherwise acquire?
