What size candles does it take please? Looking to buy as present so would be good to provide birthday girl with candles as well 😊

It has a large base. I use the battery operated tealights in mine and sometimes swap to battery operated fairy lights.

I bought a salt crystal light fitting which has spring clips, these l taped to the underside of the lamp which secured it very well

Does the bottom of the lantern get hot when lit with a candle?

No. However the lamp does. After the candle is over, the lid will be very hot. I used a LED light . Same effect very easy to do.

The description says for candles & electric lights - what lightbulb does this lantern use?
