SEIKO5 Automatic Blue Dial Men's Watch SNZG11J1

A Functional Easy-to-Read Military Style Field Watch
The Seiko 5 SNZG11 J1 is in many ways the perfect watch. The Arabic Numerals are the perfect font size. It has day/date and a red-tipped seconds hand with lume. The datewheel is white, which makes it easy to read in low light. I place the watch crown down at night and gain 2 seconds a day...Amazing.This watch looks very sporty and expensive but in a reserved, understated way.It has wonderful wrist presence with that eyecatching blue dial...People just stare at it because it's so legible, they can read the time from several feet away.I can easily dress it up with a coffee brown leather strap or metal bracelet, upgrade to a NH36 movement and a domed saffire crystal with underside a-r coating; but for now I'm very happy with the watch as is.It's very useful when I'm busy at work. All I need is a quick glance to tell the time, the day and the date. It's the watch I reach for every morning.

Recommend this to anyone.
I've been wearing this watch for about a week now & I love it. It's a solid purchase considering it's roughly 150 bucks. Although I'm not sure of how to measure a time pieces' accuracy down to the second I can tell you it is spot on in comparison to my phone & computer. The dial is extremely easy to read with both Arabic numerals & hour/minute markers on the raised portion of the dial. The hr/min/sec hands compliment both the numbers and hr/min markers around the watch. The red color on the end of the seconds hand also makes it very easy to distinguish from the blue face. One thing that has impressed me the most is the lume on this watch & how easy it is to read in low light settings especially after a charge. Day/Date is very straight forward in the aspect of easiness to read. The bezel/outer casing is a brushed stainless steel while between the lugs & the portion surrounding the skeleton back is polished. I have not tested it in water yet although I trust it will be ok if you jump in the river/pool or shower with it. I have nothing bad to say about the strap that comes with the watch even though I have two nato straps which is more for my customization/style. I would recommend this watch to anyone that's looking to break their budget. It's not too fancy but at the same time I wear it to work (white collar job) & it's a step above my G-shock which I would normally wear fishing/exercising etc. I hope this helps anyone interested in this.

Not solar powered
The watch is a lovely watch, but it has a mechanical winding movement, so it has to be re-set every day, unlike a solar powered watch that keeps steady time.

I love this Seiko 5 from Japan
I love this Seiko 5 from Japan, as my application. The watch is beautiful with a young and casual aspect, has the size suitable for man, is lightweight, pointers and hours are luminescent and clearly visible in the dark. It's easy to set the hours and the days. The rear window reveals the inner beauty of yourautomatic mechanism. The bracelet is strong and beautiful of the same color of the display. Is a sports watch and well worth the price paid. Only regret the formalities of postal delivery and customs to pay their taxes, for being a product outside the European area..Seiko Men's SNZG11J1 5 Sports Blue Watch

Good watch for young men with tolerable foibles
I love this watch! I have to say the shipping is slow, or maybe I'm too impatient and can't wait to see! The box is blank and there is nothing on the outside. Maybe they changed the box. But there is the tag on the watch strap. The watch is beautifully blue. But I really hope that the dial can be simpler with less texts on it. And I would probably change the strap in the future because it feels cheap and light, and doesn't fit well.Since I'm working in STEM field and have to deal with those metal parts everyday, I also bought some watch protector film to protect the glass. I heard Hardlex can have scratches easily. The protector is thin and doesn't affect the appearance.I have been using it for 3 days and this watch is running fast, around 6 to 7 sec per day so far. But I have to observe some more days to have the average value.

Quality and price … both exceptional.
Another watch for my collection. Love the colors of both the band and the watch face. Quality and price, spot on.

Great watch, but heads up on one thing….
This is a great watch and it wears really well. However, just a heads up on one thing. When you buy a watch from Jomashop, you do not get the manufacturer warranty card. Something to do with them being a grey market seller (meaning they don’t get the watches straight from Seiko). It’s not big deal. Jomashop has their own warranty. However I just wanted to pass this information along so others don’t have to figure it out on their own.

Crystal broke, Asurion worthless
Watch was good until the crystal fractured during normal use with no obvious cause - now there are glass shards floating around inside the watch. I bought the watch 10 months ago with an Asurion plan that states: "Plan Duration: 48 months from unit purchase date". I filed a claim, and Asurion told me they would not help because the watch was covered by the manufacturer. Seiko said to contact the retailer and get the "certificate of garauntee". The reseller does not know what that is, so I loose, and Asurion most certainly knows that. I'd avoid this watch due to the unknown breakage issue, but the real problem is Asurion. They are a scam - don't get fooled into buying their "coverage".
