Vitamix has an excellent reputation for a reason
Owning a Vitamix blender was a goal for ages, and I finally got this one almost 3 years ago. This awesome blender still works like it did when it was new.I’m a vegan and the value of an excellent blender really comes into play every day. This blender is so fast and powerful that it has no trouble making things like silky hummus and cashew cream. Smoothies blend thoroughly in just a few seconds. This Vitamix lets me make my own nut milks and turn pumpkin seeds or lentils into tofu. It’s opened a whole new world of cooking. This blender is so top notch that if you don’t want something blended into the consistency of a shake, like pesto for example, then you need to set it to low speed and don’t walk away to load the dishwasher or something. Just wait a moment and you’re done.Clean up is no problem with this Vitamix. They’re built with a smooth general surface and don’t have annoying gaps that fill with liquids.Just a heads up on use - I start mine on the lowest speed then turn up the power to blend. It only takes a second and avoids the jolt of 0-100 instantly. In any case, I haven’t experienced any sort of leakage with this awesome Vitamix and everything fits perfectly.Three years in and I’m still so happy with my Vitamix blender. Never had any problems with it. There is a reason that Vitamix has a loyal fan base.Yes, they’re more expensive upfront but it’s saved me a small fortune too. I haven’t needed to replace or repair anything. Prior to getting the Vitamix, my blenders were not the inexpensive type and they still only lasted a year at most.Vitamix is the best blender you can buy.

Must have critical appliance when on liquid diets!
I had major dental surgery which has restricted me to a liquid diet for several months. This blender has been a life saver in its ability to blend all my foods. Clean up of this blender couldn't be easier either; just blend water and a few drops of dish soap for < 1 minute, then rinse completely, done! The plunger with this blender is great for working with harder to blend items and prevents anything from getting stuck while blending. Smoothies are silky smooth, even when using frozen fruits. This blender replaced a 20+ year old Kitchenaid blender that struggled with simple blended cocktails. There is a night and day difference of improvements between these blenders. For noise level, I wouldn't call this blender quiet, but I've heard louder blenders at businesses and friends homes. This Vitamix blender instead gets the job done quickly, so the blender isn't on as long as other blenders.I'm not surprised that this blender has a 7 year warranty. It's heavy and built like a tank. I could see this lasting for a long time even with my frequent usage every day.

Such a good appliance
Absolutely the best kitchen appliance. It is so efficient at blending, unbelievably (may even unnecessarily…!?) powerful, and super easy to use and clean. Honestly, it may be overpriced compared to other blenders, and I mostly use to make smoothies, but few things have felt like a better purchase. It is bulky and heavy, and somewhat hard to store, but I quite like its utilitarian design so I’m fine with just having it out. I remember the ‘will it blend’ videos - believe the hype. If you are able to buy one, I would highly recommend.

Superior product and customer service
The blender is an absolute superior product. We had an issue with the first delivery but it was quickly fixed by the company making their customer services also superior.

Horrible and flimsy lid design and really cheap plastic food container
I sent this back before even using. I own several older blenders that both cost under $150, and the lid design on both are FAR superior to this one. This one has a "snap-on" design, and directions say to push down on lid until lid flaps "lock into place". The lid itself, and especially the flaps are flimsy (made out of what feels like a light weight, cheap, thin, somewhat hard and inflexible rubber that has no strength to it and feels like it will either break completely, or lose what little strength it does have in a short order. There was no "locking" sound or any other indication that the lid was actually secure, and I had to instead get down at eye level and inspect the bottom of the flap from underneath to see if it was indeed under the ridge it was supposed to snap "over"... and I STILL wasn't sure!!! The flaps did not look or feel firmly in place, and I knew immediately I would never feel comfortable using this blender, as a tight a secure blender lid is ESSENTIAL. Also, you have to sort of pry the flimsy flaps off the same ridge to take the lid off, and they felt like they might break right then and there! The removable "lid plug", which you can remove to add more ingredients without taking the lid off, also felt flimsy and poorly designed. PLUS, the food container itself felt REALLY cheap compared to either of my inexpensive blenders (one has an actual glass container that has lasted over 15 years, and the other is made of a MUCH heavier and more solid plastic). The only part that felt worth the $400 price tag was the base with the motor, which was really heavy compared to my other two blenders. I just think Vitamix went the cheap route on everything else. The blending power may well be far superior to my other blenders, but I'm just not willing to pay $400 for a blender with ANY cheap parts, especially such important ones. I was so excited about finally owning a Vitamix, but was so immediately dissatisfied that I packed it up10 minutes after taking it out of the box and requested a refund.Perhaps they have recently redesigned and cheapened the lid and container, as I saw only one other person with my same complaint. For what it's worth, this is only the second negative online review I've ever written about a product.
