I too struggled getting the top off, until I found this. It works!Locate the horizontal clips on the sides of the device, where the lid connects to the base.Gently push: Use a thin blade or your fingernail to gently push the two pieces apart at one of the horizontal clips.Remove the lid: The lid should now come off easily.Clean the lint: Use the included brush or a similar tool to remove any lint from the blade and lint collection compartment.Reattach the lid: Line up the vertical notches on the lid and the base.Push to secure: Gently push the lid down until it clicks into place.

I have tried two other bobble removers in the past and they didn't work at all . So I was a bit hesitant to get this Phillips Fabric Shaver at first, but after looking at other people's reviews of this item I decided to try it. At last something that works on removing the bobbles. Have used it on some jogging pants that have a lot of bobbles on and have been amazed that they have all gone. Was about to throw the item away, but not now. Will continue to use this Fabric shaver when needed.

Received this item today. I was sceptical about whether it would work on a pair of expensive RAB trousers which surprisingly became bobbly after only a few years.This worked immediately!Really simple to use out of the box, simple to empty too.The only "issue" i can think of is that it runs on batteries and I think it could've benefited from being rechargeable from a USB plug.

This little gadget is very efficient at removing the annoying bobbles on woollen garments. What is not so efficient is removing the blue lid to empty it. The shape of the bin makes it almost impossible to grip, I resorted to prising it off with my tweezers in-between the two parts. Not so easy, however I will keep this now that I have cracked the knack of opening it.

We’ve all got those old jumpers lurking at the back of the cupboard that just look a bit tatty and sad because of the lumps and bobbles on them. Firstly it's very nicely designed and comfortable to use. Battery life is superb, I'm still using the original batteries that it came with. Previously I used ALDI's own brand of cloth shavers and although they did the job well, I was forever recharging batteries. The Philips shaver lifts most of the pilling from cotton although it does struggle on hemming lines and collars. I can assume that the blades are just a fraction too deep. The device comes with a removable attachment so that you can dig out the awkward stubborn lint, but you really have to dig it in.Other than that the price is reasonable and the eco packaging was nice to see as well.
