Works great.
Works where the black simple rubber flap does not. Buy this one, it costs a little more but works great.

Smells like PVC should.
It is what it says. It fit perfectly. I'm so happy it makes my ears buzz. The top is about 3" in diameter unlike most others. It may not fit in some applications.

Perfect Replacement for my RV Sink Vents
Perfect replacement for my old, original vent. Screwed on easily and no leaks. Took care of the smell issue in my RV. I placed one under my bathroom sink, and one under my kitchen sink. Works well.

Answer to our dilemma
We have two of the "modern" stackless vent sinks in our kitchen and the trapped sewer gas was ruining the fun of being in the kitchen. We replaced both with ones purchased at the local Big Box Home Store, but the sewer gas aroma was back in no time. Thinking we had a more serious problem, we called a plumber, who merely replaced one of them and said that it is a common problem, and the only remedy other than replacing these things is to open up the walls, create a way to one of the in-place stack systems in the house, or make a new one. No thanks!Desperate, I looked online in various places chasing down special venting devices... apparently they use different nomenclature in the UK and Australia, so I spent a lot more time searching for something that seems to work the trick in those countries... but no idea what to call it here in the US.Eventually, I landed here at Amazon and found this item. Though most reviews tout it for sink back-ups due to a washer draining, that is not our case here. Nonetheless, a few other reviewers mentioned having an ugly odor that was eliminated by installing one of these special vents.I look at it this way: several thousand dollars for a true stack system, or periodically replacing these less-than-$20 parts from time to time. As was pointed out by the plumber, as well as other reviewers here, they do not last for a long, long time. I am willing to buy as needed. Hope this all helps you make your decision.
