Le CreusetStainless Steel Whistling Tea Kettle, 1.7 qt.

I accidentally left this teapot on the range, with only about 10 ounces of water in it on high for 3 hours. When I returned and saw it, it was of course bone dry but it did not melt or explode or cause a fire. Not only is it beautiful, but it seems amazing to have withstood great heat for hours and stayed in one piece. I am so thankful it was made so strong to not burn down the house! I will never walk away from a kettle on the range again!

This is a perfect tea pot. It’s classy, it’s large, it’s beautiful. My mother has had two for like 10 years so I just bought mine too after trying to find a better one (I couldn’t). The only “issue” is the handle gets a little warm.I definitely only recommend the STAINLESS STEEL ones. I have never seen any corrosion on them. I can definitely see why that’s happening though with the enamel ones. The enamel is pretty, but if you want yours to last a decade get the stainless steel.

I was hesitant to buy this tea kettle, but for me, I kept coming back to the overall look of this one over the competitors. I trust the Le Creuset brand and so that was another contributing factor. That being said, I think the enamel version of their kettle is terrible by comparison, so get the stainless steel model instead.Instructions say NOT to fill water up to the neck, so DON'T do it! I indicated via a red line in an attached picture where I stop filling on mine. Also, let the water rest off the burner after coming up to boil. If you abide by both of those tips, you shouldn't have the water try to jump out of the neck and spill boiling water all over your counter (or worse, you hands).Make sure you completely dry the kettle inside/out after each use if you want it to keep looking nice. You will need to dry it off after every use if you don't want it lose its original luster. For me, I don't use it everyday. But when I do, I just dry it off inside/out and it continues to look great.Water boils quickly in the kettle. The whistle is NOT as loud as some other whistling kettles I've had in the past. So DON'T walk away from it while its coming up to temperature on the stove. That's pretty standard advice for anyone cooking anything on a stove though.It's a very good, sturdy kettle, but might be a bit over-priced for what it is.

The stainless steel version is the only one of this particular model that will not rust. Enamel is beautiful but it needs iron to bond with and iron will rust. The stainless kettle is the same material inside and out and will not rust. Also they must have changed the whistle. I read in other reviews that the kettle spills when pouring because the whistle is attached to the spout with a plastic ring seen in some of the images. This model is lacking that ring and pours like a champion. No spilling, no rust, I just wish the whistle was a little louder.

Second one in a row arrived with whistle broken off. I could hear it rattling around in the box before I even opened it. This was bought to work with induction range and it worked great as far as boiling water, but with no whistle to alert, water boiled out of spout all over the counter and cooktop. I could not recommend this to anyone, and I will not give it a third try until the design flaw is corrected. For $100 you would think it would work...Le Creuset...fix it.

I like hot tea in the afternoon and this tea kettle heats quickly. When the water is hot, the kettle whistles loudly. It is made in the classic style with limited moving parts. I selected that feature to reduce wear and tear as this will be the last tea kettle I will buy and hope to make it last 30+ years.

This is a very beautiful kettle. I use it about 7 times in the past few days. It is still nice and shiny inside and outside of the kettle. I read a few negatives reviews, I don't know if they follow the guideline (the instructions in a booklet or not), I do, and I have none of the problems.I will update my review in a few months. As of now, I am very happy with it.It is made in China, not in France. To be honest though, it is very well-made. It looks like it will last a long time.

This tea kettle is the best out there. Quality material, good position for spout and it holds up well. I have tea every day and lived in England. This is the tea kettle you want. It's a little pricey, but you get what you paid for, and it lasts a long time.
